Stranded (2018)
Stranded is a sci-fi 2D action adventure heavily inspired by Hyper Light Drifter.
It was developed during my second semester in Dawson's IVGD program (Winter 2018) with 3 teammates. I had been in charge of:
- Gameplay design (combat, abilities, puzzle, enemies)
- Character pixel art
- Integration (enemy AI behaviors, UI, etc.)
- Production (tasks & time keeper, meeting agendas)
Still learning the basics, this project allowed me to learn a lot about the importance of production pipeline & scope management.
It'll be painfully obvious that the prototype features many bugs & fairly dubious UX decisions, but we didn't have the knowledge or time to polish it as intended. It is still definitely one of my favorite work to date!
